Improved mesh generation for medical applications
Innovations are also to be expected in the generation of finite element meshes
based on medical image data. Due to the preceding segmentation and material
modelling of the considered body parts, the generated meshes are not only
optimised from a numerical point of view, but they can especially be refined
to satisfy the needs of the individually achieved segmentation results and
the individually measured material properties. The merging of existing
solutions (proposed by NEC&MPI and ESI&USFD) will lead to a fast and stable
mesh generation process.
